Suicide Squad and my questionable taste

The first issue of Suicide Squad was absolutely dreadful, but it's been steadily improving.

My self preservation instincts kicked in, so there was one book I didn't read. Guess which! (It was Batman: The Dark Knight)

DC Reboot pull list

batholmes

I am pretty excited about the DC reboot. There are a lot of new titles that sound great. I will be sad to see Xombi and Power Girl go, but I'm sure that Power Girl will turn up somewhere. Not as sure about Xombi. This is just a list for myself of the comics I'm considering getting.

I'm the latest at everything.

Miss Martian
So I finally watched The Social Network, and now I guess I'm shipping Mark/Eduardo, which everyone I know got sick of two months ago. Oops. It really hit my "hero and villain used to be best friends" kink, despite neither of them being particularly heroic or villainous and basically just falling out over money. It has all of the FEELINGS, but they can get back together more easily because nobody's murdered anybody. That's a plus.

Speaking of heroes and villains who used to be best friends, I still haven't seen X-Men: First Class, even though I was super excited about it. Pretty sure I've already been spoiled for everything important through gifs on tumblr, though.

The Doctor's Wife

TARDIS, Doctor Who
That was wonderful and perfect and sad. I'm not a huge Gaiman fan (loved Coraline and Good Omens, not read much else), but I could worship him for this alone. It pretty much made every Doctor/TARDIS trope canon, and was still an excellent episode besides the validation.

I wish we could have met the Corsair, they sounded cool. I liked that the Doctor kept referring to them as "one of the good ones," because he really didn't like Gallifrey much. It was cool to see the little boxes from The War Games. The only thing this episode was missing was funny hats.

History of Girl Wonders

A history of every girl Robin (that I know of).

1941: Julie Madison wears the Robin Costume

She was only pretending to be Robin as part of a trap for Clayface, but it makes her the first female in comics to wear a Robin costume, and if that’s important enough for Wikipedia to mention, then so shall I. This incident occurred in Detective Comics #49, Julie’s last Golden Age appearance.
